What to expect at Appointment: First of all you will be offered refreshments and you will have a one to one consultation to discuss your day , your style, your ideas, in fact any thing you want to tell us about yourself and your fiancé . Then you can browse our gowns and choose a selection to start with or we can do this for you if your unsure of your style , we seem to know what will look incredible on you , we always go back and choose more anyway that’s the fun bit….
How Long : Your appointment can be from 1 to 1.5 hours, this is normally more than enough time and if you’re not ready to decide then its probably a good idea to give yourself a rest and come back at another date. Booking your appointment helps us ensure you get the full undivded attention you deserve. Picking a wedding dress is a big deal, and we want to make it fun and easy for you.
What to Wear: We advise nude or white underwear a strapless bra maybe . If you already have your wedding shoes please feel free to bring along but we do have sample shoes to try on with our dresses
How Many People to Bring : We would suggest no more than 3 guests . Too many family members and friends can be overwhelming and conflicting , think who’s opinion you value and trust . Please refrain from bringing younger children if possible this is your day to relax and be spoilt.
What Sizes are your dresses and price range : We stock dresses from size 4 to 26. Our prices can start from as little as £200 and include some short length and some light dresses ideal for overseas weddings , but the majority of our dresses are designer and RRP price would be between £800 and £2000 but remember we are a outlet so every dress has a discount , which we are sure will enable you to have that designer dress at a price you’ll love.
Recommendations : We do ask , please do not wear any fake tan , it comes off onto the dresses and is almost impossible to remove and therefore may incur dry cleaning costs. If you can also refrain from wearing heavy makeup and lipstick too we would be really grateful
How do I order : Every dress is available to take away on the day (apart from Bridesmaid dresses ) So full payment on the day by cash or card is accepted . You can also pay a 20% a non-refundable deposit and we will hold your dress for up to 2 weeks , where you can pay the remainder over an agreed instalment plan , via bank transfer or come back another day pay the balance and take your dress away with you.
Please be advised our stock can change daily and we wouldn’t want you to be disappointed if your dress is no longer available if you choose to come back another day.
What else do I need : We can help you pick out shoes, veils , tiaras, and anything else you might need. Once you’re ready too , make appointments for your bridesmaids.
What if my Dress needs alterations : We have fantastic qualified and professional independent seamstresses that we can recommend. Our seamstresses will personally recommend the necessary work needed and we will advise of the cost individually. All alterations are not included in the price of the dress. All consultations and and fitting appointments are carried out in the boutique at an agreed date and time. Alteration costs required are the sole responsibility of the customer and between the customer and the seamstress and Occasions by Design will not be liable for any damages or costs may these occur. This service is between the customer and the seamstress. You are always welcome to find your own seamstress too.
What about pressing? Our alterations services include a professional press and steam.
